Athletic Event Information
Each year the Youth City Council organizes the fun run for the Festival. It fits perfectly with the other "healthy" projects the Youth Council does, such as the yearly activity at the Ephraim Elementary where they raise money for the American Heart Association through the Jump Rope for Heart. The Youth Council is encouraging all to develop a healthy heart and the Fun Run is a great way to do this while you are in the "Heart of Utah."
The run will feature three race lengths: the 5K for the easy going, a 10K and the Half Marathon for the die-hards. The run isn't just for runners--People are always welcome to come and walk. Registration for the run will start at 6 a.m. at the Ephraim Co-op, 96 N. Main. There is a $10 entry fee and all participants who register before May 20 are guaranteed a t-shirt and number. $50 cash for top male and female runners in all races except walk.
Viking On A Bike
Awesomeness of the Norse-kind! This year marks the debut of “Vike on a Bike,” a mountain bike race for all experience levels on a course designed by Durke Gordon and Jason Stevens. The event begins at noon on Saturday, May 25 in front of the Snow College Noyes Building.
The tournament will take place at the baseball diamonds at Ephraim Family Park, located on 300 North Street between 200 East and 400 East streets. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, and potentially lasts all day, depending on how far through the tournament your team gets.
Danish Ball for the Kids
There will also be fun for the kids with Danish Ball, a game something like Cricket, while the adults play softball. The game is played with a ball made from yarn wrapped around a rubber core. There isn't even a need for mitts. And don't worry if you don't know about Danish Ball or Cricket. We'll show you how to play.
